Atlas Copco to acquire Wangen Pumpen

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal equity firm Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen within the Allgäu region of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used mainly within the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for meals and beverage and cosmetics purposes.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing services in Germany, a US subsidiary and a global sales and service footprint. The firm employs 265 folks and had 2020 revenues of roughly €46.4 million.
“Industrial pumps is a segment that we now have identified as a strategic match for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has main differentiated technology with a powerful aftermarket business,” mentioned Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique enterprise space. “Wangen Pumpen is a powerful model and is thought for high quality in demanding industrial purposes. This acquisition will create a stable basis for further progress in new industrial pump segments.”
The acquired enterprise will become part of the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
The deal is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2022 and is topic to regulatory approvals.
