Mexico City, Mexico, September 22, 2022 – Manchester City’s world charity initiative, Cityzens Giving, and Official Water Technology Partner, Xylem, are delighted to announce the enlargement of Xylem Water Heroes Academy, a worldwide initiative in ten cities utilizing the ability of soccer to deal with native water challenges.
Since its launch in 2021, Xylem Water Heroes Academy has engaged over 75 young leaders and delivered very important water education to greater than 6,000 younger people in 5 cities: São Paulo, Mumbai, Cape Town, New York City and Shanghai. More than 20 million residents don’t have enough water to drink for almost half the yearand one in 5 people have access to only some hours of working water from their taps per week.<br />This challenge will see Young Leaders from love.fútbol use specifically tailored soccer video games to teach younger people in the neighborhood on accountable water consumption, as properly as the importance of protected water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).<br />Zabaleta took half in a youth-led soccer and water festival and engaged in a Q&A session with young participants, before learning a traditional Mexican dance.<br />Reflecting on his visit, Zabaleta mentioned: “Meeting the Young Leaders in Mexico City was a tremendous experience. The method they’re using soccer to show kids in regards to the importance of water is inventive and galvanizing, and it’s great to see this unique initiative from Cityzens Giving and Xylem expanding to more cities. The Young Leaders are so engaged with supporting their group and to find a way to contribute in a small method was a privilege.”<br />As a part of the exercise in the country, Young Leaders, Xylem employees and followers from Manchester City’s Official Supporters Club in Mexico City also joined forces to repaint the El Coyolito pitch and create a water-themed mural.<br />In addition, City in the Community coaches delivered coaching to forty Young Leaders in Mexico City, sharing experience and information in management, community soccer and WASH. This was followed by a three-day digital Summit, connecting Young Leaders and Xylem consultants from all ten cities to share ideas on tackling water challenges via soccer.<br />“ <a href=pressure gauge หลักการ ทํา งาน continues to threaten water availability in communities throughout the globe,” stated Austin Alexander, Vice President, Sustainability and Social Impact at Xylem. “Xylem Water Heroes Academy harnesses the ability of soccer and young leaders to deal with these water challenges and make our communities extra resilient.”
Valeria, a Young Leader with love.fútbol stated: “We want all the kids here to bear in mind that accountable water consumption is essential, they usually must deal with it. We obtained training from Man City coaches and learnt a quantity of games that educate youngsters about water conservation through soccer.
