Amarinth delivers 18m-long pumps for new Indian FPSO

Amarinth has completed a US$1.5 million order from Armada Madura for six API 610 VS4 vertical pumps for a brand new FPSO being constructed for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

Two of the six API 610 VS4 pumps are pour point depressant pumps that are 18m in size and the other 4 are methanol carry pumps that are 10m lengthy.
All of the pumps have PT100 temperature sensors which have been designed and constructed alongside the size of the pumps to watch the temperature of each bearing individually.
The 18m lengthy pumps incorporate a supporting system of brackets that Amarinth has designed which attaches each pump to its tank during set up ensuring that because the pump is lowered into the tank it stays perfectly aligned, decreasing vibration and put on during operation.
Once assembled, the pumps had been independently witness tested and certified by DNV at Amarinth’s facility in Rendlesham, UK. The pumps had been then disassembled into 3m segments and shipped to Singapore the place the FPSO (floating production storage and offloading unit) is being built.
The pump delivery and set up needed to align with the FPSO build schedule. Because of pressure gauge of the pumps, they needed to be installed into the vessel’s tanks through the deck earlier than another deck above the pumps could possibly be built. The first part was completed successfully over the Christmas period with Amarinth’s Engineering Commissioning group supporting the customer with the installation and commissioning.
The FPSO will be positioned within the KG-DWN 98/2 area, approximately 22 km off the east coast of Kakinada, India. The vessel is designed to provide as a lot as 90 000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility. It shall be outfitted to handle the monsoon conditions prevalent at the subject.
